Turnout differs in different democracies

It matters much to voters if they can pick their representatives or if they only have a shot at electing their representatives. The nations with proportional elections are colored green (light green indicates proportional nations also having presidential elections), those nations with at least some aspect of proportionality are blue, while nations holding elections in districts are colored yellow.
